Apple has launched the first official dock for the Apple Watch. Dubbed the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock, it's on sale now for £65.
The dock lets you charge your Apple Watch by laying it flat or on its side. Opt for the latter and the Watch switches to Nightstand mode, which effectively turns it into an alarm clock.
In other words, the screen shows the time in the correct orientation, and the Digital Crown and Contacts button work as 'on/off' and 'snooze' buttons respectively.
The dock uses the same inductive charging connector that comes with the Apple Watch, and is compatible with both 38mm and 42mm models. It's powered by a Lightning-to-USB cable that you plug into a power adapter.
The watch is held in place by the magnetic puck in the middle of the dock.
Nightstand mode was introduced in watchOS 2, which was released at the end of September.
The peripheral's arrival comes as mystery continues to surround exactly how many units of the Apple Watch have been sold.
At the iPhone event in September, CEO Tim Cook would only say that customers reported 97 per cent satisfaction with their Apple wearable.
The tech giant recently started offering a discount to anyone buying the watch with an iPhone in certain stores in the US.
