Two or three years ago, a phone with a 4.6-inch screen would have been considered pretty big. But in 2015, here's one being referred to as "compact".

The Xperia Z5 Compact isn't diminutive when it comes to specs though. It packs the kind of power you'd expect from a full-sized flagship.

As the smallest in the Z5 line-up, it's arguably been overshadowed by its bigger brothers: the standard Z5 and top-of-the-range Z5 Premium.

But can it win over fans in its own right? Let's have a look...
The Xperia Z5 Compact sticks with the same rectangular slab look as the standard Z5. But because it has less space to fit in all its components, it's ballooned somewhat.

Whereas the standard Z5 is 7.3mm thick, the Compact measures 8.9mm around the waist.

The effect of that extra bulk is compounded by the smaller size, making it quite a squat little fellow.
